SnackPak for Kids

SnackPak for Kids is a program that provides food for the weekend for qualifying cbackpackhildren in the Warsaw Central School District.  Throughout the year Trinity accepts donations of nutritious food that children can easily make themselves. Each week during the school year, volunteers from all around the community gather on Friday to pack each backpack full of several pounds of food. The backpacks are delivered to the school social worker who distributes them to the identified children, who take them home over the weekend. Every Monday the backpacks return empty and the process begins all over again.

We are always looking for volunteers who want to join our team of backpack-packers! We’re also always on the lookout for sturdy, non-gendered backpacks, and for food from our wishlist below.

If you’d like to make a donation, you are welcome to bring it between the hours of 9 AM- Noon on Sundays. If you’re interested in joining our team of volunteers, please talk to Janis Chalmers, the coordinator, or Mother Sare, who can also hook you up.

SnackPak Wishlist

The essence of our wishlist is simple: nutritious food that is easy to open and consume, or does not require much ability to prepare. Individually packed or wrapped portions are great! No glass containers – these backpacks get slung around on the bus, and the glass will break.

We ask for the donation of sturdy, non-gendered backpacks because these bags hold a lot of food week in and week out, and the entire system is anonymous for our packers – we have no idea how many girls and how many boys are being served, so the fewer Disney Princess or Army Camouflage backpacks we have, the happier we are.
