This day prepares us for the most important festival as the church. Easter is so important to us because we celebrate Jesus rewriting our fear, rewriting the story of our pain and our anguish – because our lives are often more filled with pain, fear, angst, stress, and anger. And Jesus came to rewrite those stories so that we can embrace something new (that is as old as it gets): God’s love for us. And nothing can keep us from the love of God – not even death.
