Paul tells us how it really is: if you teach all the people in your church Sunday after Sunday, and you do it with resentment in your heart? Doesn’t count. If you do all of the good things in the world, but inside there is a festering rage at people? Doesn’t count. The most important thing is love. If you can do all these wonderful things and you don’t have love in your heart… you’re a grade-C garage band.
