Lent: Still Not Over

We’re motoring our way through Lent, but we’ve still got another half day. 🙂 Have some sermons to tide you over.

(All sermons preached by the Rev. Sare Anuszkiewicz, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Warsaw, NY.)

This sermon was preached on Sunday, March 11, 2018. It was based on the following readings: Numbers 21:4-9, Ephesians 2:1-10, John 3:14-21, and Psalm 107:1-3, 17-22. The full text of the readings can be found here.

This sermon was preached on Sunday, March 18, 2018. It was based on the following readings: Jeremiah 31: 31-34, Hebrews 5:5-10, John 12:20-33, and Psalm 51:1-13. The full text of the readings can be found here.

This sermon was preached on Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018. It was based on the following readings, and the fact that during the entire dramatic reading of the passion by the congregation, a one year-old named Lena Rene was scootching up the aisle of the sanctuary, one palm in each hand. Right about the time Jesus was being crucified, she decided to take a nap in the front of my pew. This deeply affected the sermon. Without further ado, the readings: Mark 11:1-11, Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29, Isaiah 50:4-9a, Philippians 2:5-11, Mark 14:1-15:47, and Psalm 31:9-16. The full text of the readings can be found here.

This sermon was preached on Maundy Thursday, March 29, 2018. It was based on the following readings: Exodus 12:1-14, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, John 13:1-17, 31b-35, and Psalm 116:1, 10-17. The full text of the readings can be found here.

The Good Friday service was an ecumenical one, and no sermon was recorded.
